Kasia Kay, THE EXPLORER – solo exhibition at Moon Station Athens, curated by artist Irini Karayannopoulou.
Exhibition duration: 21.06 – 03.07.2025
“This constellation of works offers a cartography of mobility—emotional, political, and material. Emerging from a lived experience marked by escape and relocation, Kay’s practice occupies the space between displacement and connection. Moving across media—painting, photography, sculpture, installation, and print- her work acts as a flexible architecture for encounters: each piece a site of passage, shaped by affective charge and temporal elasticity. The Explorer unfolds as a post-geographic narrative. Kay's practice resists territorial fixity and univocal readings; instead, her work composes a fragmented atlas where gestures and durations coexist. Within this logic, exploration is no longer an act of conquest or arrival, but an ongoing negotiation of self and other, absence and presence, silence and signal.” - Irini Karayannopoulou.
Accompanying the exhibition is a specially conceived artist's book, designed by Sebr Studio, which extends the project’s discursive and aesthetic field into print.
THE EXPLORER is Kasia Kay’s second solo exhibition in Athens, Greece.
