Kasia Kay is pleased to announce her new curatorial project titled
"Exquisite Corpse Now" (ECN).

It is a collaborative exhibition inspired by the Surrealist’s game, Exquisite Corpse. Originally Cadavre Exquis, it gained popularity in artistic circles during the 1920s, when it was adopted as a technique by artists to generate collaborative compositions. Kasia Kay has invited several international artists to participate in the ECN "game."

The project is an accumulation of collaborative compositions, micro-drawings or paintings, and collage artworks, in which each participant takes a turn folding his or her artwork to conceal the portion, and then passing it along to the next artist for a further contribution.

With the current pandemic, the Exquisite Corpse game takes on an entirely new meaning, as a socially distant means of artistic collaboration. ECN’s resulting compositions are to reflect on the current history of social unrest, isolation, and race, and to look forward toward adjustment and transformation. Participating artists reflect on either the 'new normal' that they conceive of now or on their futuristic vision of it.
